Everyday Adventures

Childcare learning based around educational play, social skills and knowledge

As early childhood educators, we understand that because early childhood learning is based around educational play, social skills and knowledge, it is important to be adaptable and open to new things on a daily basis, consequently, nearly every day at Lizzards is different. Of course, our goal of providing a safe, educational, and happy environment is always firmly in place, but our approach to daily activities may vary so that we can adapt to your children's interests, moods and other factors such as the weather or current trends that are attractive and beneficial to your child.

Embracing equality, multiculturalism and differences

If the weather is warm, we often incorporate water play and more outdoor arts and crafts and sun safe outdoor activities; or if it is cold, we all rug up and continue our daily adventures outside, so as to not let the cooler weather impact the importance of play and learning. No matter what the flavour of the day seems to be, we will endeavour to adapt our activities to the interests and needs of your child.

At Lizzards Pre-School & Long Day Care, we embrace equality, multiculturalism and differences and we are constantly expanding our repertoire of excursions and incursions to ensure we are able to explore as many different learning opportunities as possible. Our children thoroughly enjoy regular visits from the Police, Fire Service and ambulance as well as a range of educational incursions to extend and inspire the children's learning.

National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)

The NQF and NQS set high benchmarks for early childhood education, ensuring the quality of care for your children; something we take very seriously at Lizzards. Whilst fun and safety is at the heart of everything we do, please be assured that the educational benefits of our play based curriculum is benefitting your child and providing them with beneficial skills and learning for the future. Our play-based curriculum is individualised to your child, supporting their learning in the now and creating inquisitive minds for the future.

Bush Kinder

Building a true connection with the land that surrounds us

Our Bush Kinder Program is one of our most popular learning experiences at Lizzards, providing your child with access to the natural environment in safe, fun and well supervised circumstances.

Our distinctive location with the adjoining bushland next door means we have easy and convenient access to a delightful openair wonderland every day, where our children can immerse themselves in nature and outdoor play. We believe that this natural playground is the perfect place for children to build a true connection with the land that surrounds us, whilst developing physical skills, the ability to assess risk and building upon their emotional and academic confidence.

A mixture of free play and structured activities

Bush Kinder outings are achieved in small groups, where children can be effectively supervised as they enjoy a mixture of free play and structured activities.  Free play allows for self-guided exploration and discovery by themselves or with their peers, whereas our structured activities may include outdoor stories, bush walks, treasure hunts, yoga or visits from local Aboriginal elders, to aid in their learning and enrichment of this beautiful outdoor experience.

We know your child will love Bush Kinder and all of the long lasting learning and memories that it will provide them.
