Our Centre

We are proud to abide by the National Quality Standard in Education and the National Quality Framework (NQF)

With outstanding care and early childhood education at the centre of everything we do, for children 6 weeks to school age (6 years), we are proud to abide by the National Quality Standard in Education and the National Quality Framework (NQF) providing high-quality, accessible and affordable childhood education and care for our local families.

Our naturally welcoming, and stimulating environment awakens the curiosity of probing little minds on a daily basis, whilst also making children and families feel relaxed, appreciated and safe.

Daily activities with rest time and nutritious meals

Our daily activities are designed in accordance with the age and needs of our children, to factor in appropriate, stimulating learning through play for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. If along the way we notice areas where your child could benefit from a little more help or support, we will work with you to do what we can or provide further information as to where you can seek additional support.

Rest time and nutritious mealtimes are designed to ensure our children receive exactly what their little mind and bodies require each day.

Waiting Lists

Lizzards is a very popular choice for Blue Mountains families, and we generally have a waiting list for available places. We welcome all enquiries and hope that we can welcome you to our centre soon.

Our Nursery Room

In addition to providing a safe, happy and friendly environment, our nursery room early childhood educators assess, plan and implement our nursery children’s learning based on the Early Years Learning Framework.

This framework seeks to develop and nurture five key learning outcomes, ensuring that your children:

  • have a strong sense of identity
  • are connected with and contribute to their world
  • have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • are confident and involved learners
  • are effective communicators

The Framework has been designed for use by early childhood educators, early childhood teachers and approved providers working in partnership with children, families, other professionals, schools and community members to inform educational programs and practices that are place-based and relevant to our community.

Preparing for School (Preschool Program)

Young children learn best through play, a fact that we greatly value and uphold. Play allows children to discover, explore and build on their imagination and creativity.  It is adaptable and evolving and allow us to develop flexible programs that cater to each child’s needs, interests and level of development. By observing and document your children at play and as they learn, our educators will assist your child and their peers in extending their thinking and awareness, inspiring them to love learning and pursue answers and knowledge as they continue to grow.

Along with valuing the importance of play, our programs also introduce key skills in phonics, numerals and various other activities that build your child’s academic skills, assisting in preparing them for school.

Owna App

We use the Owna App at Lizzards for easy and effective two way communication with our families.

By keeping each other informed about your child we are able to support smooth transitions by knowing what your little one needs to continue to be happy and healthy. Additionally, Owna allows us to keep you informed about any activities or centre updates, in addition to assisting our educators with the creation of customisable learning programs and documentation. And it is a great tool for you to be able to track your childcare fees too.
